An addictive page-turner from Jesse Q, Sutanto
This addictive read exposes the cutthroat, ugly side of social media and toxic relationships. Two L.A. influencers see their friendship destroyed by jealousy, stalking, and sabotage. Nothing in their lives is as picture-perfect as it seems.
I could not put this down! The story is dark, twisty, and, at times, shocking. Sutanto does a great job of making some pretty unlikable characters compelling. This story contains layers of toxicity in the characters' relationships and their relentless pursuit of creating content that will push them to the next level of internet fame. Cleverly plotted and fast-paced, I thought this was going in one direction when suddenly everything changed. My jaw dropped. The drama could not be contained from there as the carefully curated facades crumbled.
Sutanto is such a versatile and talented writer. Her books are so much fun to read, from her hilarious cozy mysteries to her juicy thrillers. I cannot wait to see what she writes next! If you enjoy domestic thrillers, don't miss this one. It's fast-paced, super entertaining, and a wild ride!
Eunice Wong and Risa Mei narrate the audiobook, and they are fantastic! Both embody each character perfectly and bring out every nuance of emotion. They struck a great balance as characters often faking sincerity and external perfection for the camera while seething or plotting on the inside. I enjoyed both reading my physical copy and listening to this one!
I love taking book pics, but this story made me think about images portrayed on social media. So, instead of the pic I originally envisioned for this post, here are unedited pics I snapped for myself as I was setting up. I got a lucky shot with my cat Juliet, and decided to go with it. Pic 2 is right before she knocks the book over and runs off 😂

PUBLISHER'S SYNOPSIS:
                                                  Â
When cracks start forming in an influencer’s curated life, she finds out that jealousy is just as viral as a video in this riveting suspense novel by bestselling author Jesse Q. Sutanto.
Influencer Meredith Lee didn’t teach Aspen Palmer how to blossom on social media just to be ditched as soon as Aspen became big. So can anyone really blame Mer for doing a little stalking? Nothing serious, more like Stalking Lite. Then, Mer gets lucky; she finds one of Aspen’s kids’ iPads and swipes it. Now, she has access to everything: the family calendar and Aspen’s social media accounts. Would anyone else be able to resist tweaking things a little here and there, showing up in Aspen’s place for meetings with potential sponsors? Mer’s only taking back what she deserves—what should have been hers.Â
Meanwhile, Aspen doesn’t understand why her perfectly filtered life is falling apart. Sponsors are dropping her, fellow influencers are ghosting her, and even her own husband seems to find her repulsive. If she doesn’t find out who’s behind everything, she might just lose it all. What everyone seems to forget is that Aspen didn’t become one of TikTok’s biggest momfluencers by being naive. When Meredith suddenly goes missing, Aspen’s world is upended and mysterious threats begin to arrive—but she won’t let anything get in the way of her perfect life again.
